Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on market-based approach to alleviating global poverty and promoting sustainability. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing their rights of, disadvantaged producers and workers.

The current Fair Trade movement focuses on exports from developing countries to developed countries, most notably handicrafts, coffee, cocoa, sugar, tea, bananas, honey, cotton, wine, fresh fruit, and so on.
